Our son has ADHD and has struggled with his quizzes, tests, and writing assignments for several years. He was always left feeling frustrated. We tried to work with our son's teachers and put other supports in place with no luck. We were so lucky to find Coach Karen when we did! She's a true treasure!! We have been working with her for almost a year, allowing us to form an excellent working relationship - she is easy to talk to, understanding, and patient. During this time, Coach Karen has helped our son improve his comprehension and writing, including his note-taking skills; math has advanced about two grade levels. Grades have continued to improve throughout the year between 4th and 5th grade to the point it's almost straight A's and prompted an invitation to participate in math club at school. This provided a new confidence that he didn't have before. Coach Karen has also coached us on ADHD approaches/practices to help address situations with our son at home or school. In addition to providing a better understanding of how an ADHD mind works and how to incentivize him best to keep him on top with his school work and other tasks. Our son is in a much better place now; he always looks forward to learning new things during his tutoring sessions with Coach Karen! We are extremely thankful for all she has helped our son with and happy to continue working with her. We highly recommend Coach Karen!

Karen helped with reading comprehension and vocabulary for my 2nd grader. She introduced note-taking skills and how to keep a vocabulary diary to the lesson. She's a lovely person, well-organized and engaging with my daughter.

Relatability is such a huge factor for my kid...Coach Karen is personable, concise, efficient, and flexible. We are an ADHD family who plays travel hockey so her ability and willingness to flex with us has been priceless. We just had a session (organization skills and social studies test prep) from a hotel room in Vegas (we live on east coast). My son said that he had no idea how easier things can be with just getting organized, using short-cuts with focused and directed attention to the stuff that actually matters. I have a feeling this will be a long-term relationship as long as she will have us.

Ms. Karen is a wonderful tutor! My son was struggling in 2nd grade. Homework was a battle of wills and it felt like my son could not get his test scores to show how much he actually knew. He was easily frustrated and starting to get very discouraged. Ms. Karen started with reading and giving him tools to focus. By the end of the year, he was slightly above grade level and we've started working on math too. My son always finishes the session feeling positive and I feel armed with games/strategies/help for the rest of the week. I couldn't be more grateful for Ms. Karen and I would highly recommend her!

My son was reluctant to even see her. Once they were introduced; he still remained with a more negative outlook over the whole "thing". Nevertheless; once the session was over; he went diligently to do the summary of his work as asked by Mrs. Karen. It's been good overall; there's a lot more to accomplish which I cannot state in a one lesson review; but I definitely see how good she is with ADHD kids. I look forward to a great relationship with her.

Karen M. is not only a master of student assessment and educational techniques; she has also mastered the skill of patience, attentiveness, and confidence building. Her skill set allows her to recognize the student’s strengths and use them in study practices. She is able to explain why a particular study habit does not work well for the particular student and find what works. She was always punctual. The communication with me, about my child, was great. Her knowledge of the 504 plan was an added bonus. She kept me on schedule with email reminders. She was on top of her paper work and schedule. The biggest Kudos I can give her is that my daughter looked forward to her tutoring sessions with Ms. Karen; and, I loved seeing my daughter excited about learning.
